Getting started

1. Install the app. It indexes your products’ SKUs and barcodes straight away (about a minute per 10,000 variants).
2. Click Turn on in theme, make sure “SKU & part search” is switched on, and click Save.
3. Search your store for one of your SKUs. You land on that product with the right variant selected.

Common questions

Does it replace my theme’s search?

No. It only steps in when a search exactly matches a SKU, part number or barcode, or one of your redirects. Every other search goes to your theme’s normal search results, so nothing else changes.

Do dashes, spaces and capitals matter?

No. “AB-1234”, “ab 1234” and “AB1234” all find the same part.

Then the shopper sees your normal search results so they can pick. Both show in the suggestions while typing.

A product doesn’t show up

Only active products published to the Online Store are searchable. Edits sync within seconds; you can also click Re-index now.

How do synonyms work?

Add a group like “tee, t shirt, tshirt”. When a search contains any of those words, the app asks your theme’s search for all of them, so “navy t shirt” also finds “Navy Tee”. Shoppers still see their own words on the results page. Paste one group per line, straight from a spreadsheet or from your old Search & Discovery synonyms.

What are search redirects?

Send a search term to a page you choose: an old or competitor part number to the current product, a misspelling to the right collection, or a search that found nothing to something useful. The overview lists searches that found nothing.

Does it work with every theme?

Yes, with any Online Store 2.0 theme whose search box submits to /search, which is nearly all of them. If yours doesn’t, email us.
